Written nominations, which comply with the Rules of the organisation, must reach the Branch Returning Officer, identified below at his office or postal address, not later than 12 noon (AEST) on Wednesday 9 May 2018.
Nominations cannot be withdrawn after 12 noon (AEST) on Wednesday 16 May 2018. In accordance with Rule 40(ja)(ii) withdrawal must be a completed Statutory Declaration by the candidate.
Nomination forms are available upon request from the Branch Returning Officer, the Unions website (www.unitedvoice.org.au) or the registered Branch office of United Voice.
Candidates are asked to note the qualifications for office contained within the organisation’s Rules, particularly Rule 40. No member is eligible to nominate for more than one office on the Branch Executive and/or Branch Council as per the requirements of Rule 40(g).
After the close of nominations, where a candidate has nominated for more offices than the rules allow, the Returning Officer will only consider the nomination received last in time. i.e. the last nomination is treated as having withdrawn all the previous nominations. Where the Returning Officer is unable to determine which nomination was received last in time, all nominations will be defective and the candidate will have the opportunity to remedy the issue.

BALLOT: If a ballot is necessary, voting material will be posted on Wednesday 6 June 2018 to eligible members at the address shown in the Union’s records. The ballot will close at 10:00am (AEST) on Wednesday 27 June 2018.
